A demon, created by the wizard Bibidi, who was sealed in an egg until Babidi set him free. He is a fearsome fighter, who can regenerate from any injury and turn people into candy to eat them.

Buu is a powerhouse. Fastest character while not transformed, highest HP and the ability to regenerate. Once he transforms he becomes second fastest character and has a permanent transformation, while retaining his ability to regenerate HP and eat people that were transformed into cookies. Because of this ability to regain full HP after turning an opponent into candy he is frowned upon by people since he can be abused to gain virtually infinite HP.

He comes from the future so that he can absorb the androids of the past and evolve into a perfect state.

Cell is a combination character. His base level speed is second highest, but his transformation isn't to special. His attacks are a mixture of the main moves of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Frieza. His speed and relatively quick transformation make him the character of choice for anyone who wants to gain an edge from the beginning.

A tyrant ruling over the universe. He is responsible for singlehandedly eradicating the entire Saiyan race along with their planet, aside from 4 survivors. He is the first opponent to whiteness a Super Saiyan. He was first defeated by Goku on planet Namek and later killed by Trunks when he tried to destroy planet Earth.

Frieza is a slow character in his base form, but his main attacks can not be blocked. In addition his Frieza Disc attack is an instant-kill move which he can freely recall and fire without the need to charge a new one. After transformation he gains the Death Ball which is one of the strongest attacks in the game, and his rapid fire finger laser is the death sentence for any opponent who is immobile on the ground.

An all rounder. He has a fairly quick transformation and good stats in both his forms. This is the character you will see most in the servers due to his middle based stats. While in his normal form he also has access to the Spirit Bomb attack which is very useful especially if you are joining a it late into the game.

Named after Gokus adoptive grandfather, he is the son of Chichi and Goku. He is a hybrid of the human and the Saiyan race. Trained by Piccolo to fight against Vegeta, Krillin while going to Namek and later by Goku to fight against Cell, he displays a great hidden power triggered by his rage.

Gohan starts of as one of the slowest characters in the game. But from the start he already has access to the shield attack that can be useful if applied skillfully. Gohan also excels as one of the fastest transforming characters. Its very common to see a Gohan transforming only 5 minutes after the start of the game. After the transformation he gains the Kamehameha and his speed is boosted to that of Goku and Vegetas transformed states. This makes him a very useful character for shorter games.

A human who came to train with master Roshi along with Goku. He soon became best friends with Goku and his companion in battle. He was killed by Frieza on planet Namek which triggered Gokus transformation, he is also responsible for a bit of Gohans training while they were on planet Namek.

This character is usually confused with one of the worst in the game. But thats far from the truth. While his starting stats are amongst the lowest in the game he makes up for that in the long run. Krillin has access straight off to a Destructo Disc which is a one hit kill attack along with the Scatter Beam which is a fire and forget attack that homes on multiple opponents. His arsenal is completed with the Kamehameha for the struggling beam boost. But Krillin becomes a monster in the long run. While his transformation does require quite a bit of time to achieve its payed off by his stats boost. He is the fastest transformed character in the game and his HP is second only to the transformed version of Buu. Add a fast replenishing Ki poll and you have a death machine that only few have mastered, but those who have are almost untouchable.

A Namekian who came to planet Earth to escape the drastic weather changes on his home planet. He was influenced by humans and this split into a good part, which is Kami the guardian of earth, and Piccolo Daimao, who was bent on destroying the world. He was killed by Goku and reincarnated in his own son with the same name. After the fight with Raditz he became a good guy aiding Goku in Earths protection.

Piccolo is a character for special tastes. His base form is on pair with Krillin and thats saying something. But he does have a quick transformation and has access to the Special Beam Canon from the get go. If not anything else this attack is what will help you kill people with Piccolo.

The prince of the Saiyan race, he was spared annihilation by Frieza. He came to planet Earth to wish for immortality with the help of the dragon balls, but was stopped by Goku. On Namek he aided Gohan and Krillin in the fight against Frieza and the Ginyu force, and later came to live on Earth in the Capsule Corp.

Gokus rival in both the anime and the game. His stats are almost all equal to Goku with the exception that he requires slightly longer to transform. The difference is shown while transformed though. While retaining Gokus stats his attacks get an upgrade. Final Flash and Big Bang Attack are 2 of the strongest in the game and they are deadly. Unlike Goku who excels with the late joiners Vegeta is in its prime when you are there from the start.

He comes from the future to warn Goku about the attack of the androids and give him a cure for the illness that kills him. He is the son of Bulma and Vegeta, who was trained by Gohan. After Cells death at the hands of Gohan, he returns to the future and kills the androids in his own time line.

Trunks is another of the weak base form characters. His stats are almost identical to Gohans starting stats with a slightly higher HP in both forms. Like Gohan, Trunks transforms really early into the game. He is a melee based character with no real struggling beam, but he has the Burning Attack which blinds anyone thats unfortunate to get hit by it. Even after transformation he stays melee based, but gains Finishing Buster. This attack is Trunks' version of Vegetas Big Bang attack and while not quite as deadly it's enough to weaken any foe.
